Martin Schüßler
Martin Schüßler is CEO and co-founder of Ontaris GmbH, a specialized provider of software solutions for regulated and security-critical areas such as explosives and weapons of war.
After studying communications engineering at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, he began his professional career as a freelance programmer and system administrator. In 1994, he founded Ontaris GmbH in Wuppertal together with Stefan Orth. The company initially developed individual software solutions and over time increasingly specialized in applications for highly regulated areas with high demands on documentation, traceability and compliance.
For many years, a particular focus of his work has been on the practical implementation of legal requirements in the field of tracking explosives and war weapons control. In doing so, he deals intensively with the organizational, technical and legal requirements of the respective legal frameworks and their implementation in practice by companies and authorities.
In the field of explosives traceability, he is largely responsible for the conceptual design and further development of the corresponding software solutions from Ontaris. These support companies in the legally compliant documentation and tracking of explosives in accordance with European and national traceability requirements.
He also played a key role in the design and development of the electronic War Weapons Register (eKWB). The system supports companies in the digital and legally compliant management of their war weapons records in accordance with the requirements of the War Weapons Control Act (KWKG). He is also responsible for the further development of the content of the solution and the practical implementation of the legal requirements in digital processes.
Thanks to his close cooperation with companies, authorities and specialist users, Martin Schüßler has extensive practical experience both in the field of explosives tracking and in the implementation of documentation and verification obligations in accordance with the War Weapons Control Act. His work focuses in particular on translating complex regulatory requirements into comprehensible and practicable software solutions.
